About Remote Execute

Remote Execute is an extremely powerful features which allows administrators to remotely run a variety of tasks on Smart Shield clients from the Smart Control Resource Manager. Using Remote Execute, administrators can:

How it works:

  1. Download a .bat file from the scripts section of Centurion-tech.com or create your own .bat file for the action(s) you would like to perform and place it on the same workstation running the Smart Control Resource Manager
  2. select target clients from the main screen of the Smart Control Resource Manager
  3. Right click on the selected clients and choose 'Remote Execute'
  4. Browse to the file you wish to run on the selected clients in the Remote Execute Feature's browser (enter any parameters at this time) and click ‘open'
  5. Click ‘Remote Execute' to execute the script on the target client(s)
  6. Use with Smart Control Resource Manager schedules:
To use Remote Execute in conjunction with Smart Control Resource Manager schedules, simply choose the Remote Execute feature in the scheduling window and follow the same steps listed above

Script Library

Remove CornerStone/DriveShield
This batch file will quickly uninstall CornerStone or DriveShield to allow for Smart Shield to be installed. Protection must be disabled when running this script.

Create Junctions (Exempt Directories) and Partitions
This script allows you to exempt protection of a specific directory. In XP, this script will mount a directory to the Persistent Storage drive or an additional partition (already on the machine). In Vista and Windows 7, the script will do the same as w/ XP, but also give the ability to create an additional partition to mount the directory to.

Resize the temporary storage
Requires 2 parameters, the drive letter and the new size in MB. The client machine will restart automatically, if not this tells us the resize didn't work due to bad parameters, like the new size too big for example. (Ex: storage.bat C 2048).

Mount/unmount the persistent storage
Requires 2 parameters, the persistent storage drive letter and the number 0 to unmount or any other number to mount. The client machine will restart automatically. (Ex: mountpstorage.bat Q 1).

Resize the persistent storage
Requires 2 parameters, the persistent storage drive letter and the new size in MB. The client machine will restart automatically, if not this tells us the resize didn't work due to bad parameters, like the new size too big for example. The persistent storage cannot be resized while it is unmounted. Please backup the data in the persistent storage just in case. (Ex: pstorage.bat Q 2048).
